About Us
Yesan Apple Wine Co., Ltd. is a premium Korean alcohol producer specializing in apple wine and distilled apple spirits made exclusively from 100% locally grown apples in Yesan, Korea.
Through refined fermentation and distillation techniques that highlight the natural character of the fruit, its flagship products — Chusa 40, Chusa Baek40, and Chusa 50 — have won top awards at major Korean liquor competitions as well as Gold Medals at international brandy competitions.
Yesan Apple Wine represents a new direction in Korean craft spirits, delivering the authentic depth and elegance of Korean apples to the global market.
Yesan apples are cultivated in an exceptional growing environment defined by fertile red clay and abundant sunlight, supported by over 100 years of accumulated farming expertise. Today, approximately 1,200 farms produce around 30,000 tons of apples annually, positioning Yesan at the forefront of Korea’s apple industry through the early adoption of new varieties and advanced cultivation techniques.
Yesan Apple Wine directly sources approximately 300 tons of apples each year from local farmers, using only apples grown in Yesan and from its own orchards. All processes — washing, pressing, fermentation, and distillation — are carried out in-house, ensuring full control over quality and expression from fruit to spirit.
Brand
The name CHUSA means “Autumn Apple” and “Stories of Autumn,” and is inspired by the life and spirit of Kim Jeong-hui (Chusa), a renowned Korean scholar and artist born in Yesan.
CHUSA reflects a commitment to crafting spirits that embody his philosophy of depth, restraint, and respect for nature.
Each bottle captures the richness and generosity of autumn, offering apple wines and distilled spirits shaped by time, craftsmanship, and thoughtful dedication.
Mongro, the premium brand of Yesan Apple Wine, carries the dream of elevating apple distillate from Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do into one of Korea’s representative brandies.
It is also the name of the village where Yesan Apple Wine is located. Mongro is the path of a dream shaped by time and nature. It signifies the journey of a single apple—through fermentation, through fire, and into its quiet rest within oak—along with the brewer’s own pursuit of perfection.
Each bottle of Mongro is an answer to the question: “How far has this spirit come now?”
If it is still young, it is on the path of possibility. If it has fully matured, it is on the path nearing completion.
